Project Lead
Jenny Brady
Jenny Brady is the Inclusive Learning and Teaching Manager at the University of Leeds, based within the Student Success Centre in Educational Engagement. Jenny provides strategic leadership for embedding inclusive education, including supporting a network of School Academic Leads for Inclusive Pedagogies across the institution. She also provides her expertise to support the University’s ambitious Curriculum Redefined project with her role as the Thematic Lead for Inclusive Teaching.
Between 2019 and 2024 Jenny worked as a core member of the Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence, undertaking a large-scale pedagogic research project to understand inclusive practices and making recommendations for institutional change. She continues to provide support and connection for colleagues involved in pedagogic research in this area, as LITE’s Inclusive Education and Belonging Incubator Lead.
Jenny’s professional background combines both teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Disability Support. Between 2006 and 2019 Jenny worked in Disability Services as a Disability Coordinator specialising in specific learning differences, handling complex case work, working closely with faculties and developing policy. In 2016 she turned her attention to influencing the culture of inclusive teaching rather than supporting individual students, and launched the Inclusive Learning and Teaching Development Project (ILTD), establishing the University’s baseline standards for inclusive learning and teaching and developing principles of inclusive learning and teaching.
Jenny is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SHEA) and is passionate about inclusive culture change and continual learning. She has presented her work both nationally and internationally, and is keen on using her warm, grounded and authentic approach to leadership to inspire and build confidence in others.
